Energy
Energy is the capacity of something to do work. Examples of energy are kinetic, chemical, thermal, and electric. Energy is always conserved, unless the system is open, meaning that energy can be exchanged or given to its surroundings. However, in terms of the universe, energy is conserved.

Power |
|
Power is the rate of transferring heat or doing work. It is non-directional, meaning it is a scalar. It is measured in Watts, which are equal to one joule per second. One horse-power is equal to 746 Watts as well.
